Student Inspirational Programme

We aim to inspire students and prepare them for the rapidly changing world of work; we do this by enabling educators to invite business leaders for encounters with their student.

This gives students inspiration by having speakers attend their school, who give insight into their career journeys, the ups and downs they had, why they chose the career they in and what lessons they learnt along the way. Secondly, students are given exposure into the working world by gaining work experience in their chosen field whilst they studying. Additionally, students are supported with interview preparation and CV writing.

Research has shown students who encounter exposure into the work place and encounter inspiration leaders are 3 times as likely to enter into STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) subjects and therefore, meeting the higher demands of the working world and also, 5 times less likely to become NEET (“Not in Education, Employment, or Training”).

  • Inspire students by connecting them with local and international business leaders from fast-growing companies
  • Research supports students feel inspired through leadership and work placement encounters
  • Give students ahead start by facilitating mock interviews and workplace visits
  • Placements provide students with valuable insight into the world of work
  • Helping students to close the skills gap, and choose the subjects at school that will help them find, create and be recruited into the jobs of tomorrow
  • By connecting students with local business leaders, we can help them gain the confidence and skills required to create the innovations that will define our future.
  • Teachers, parents and business leaders work together to solve the problem of youth employability

Mentoring women in Business Programme

“No nation can rise to the height of glory unless your women are side by side with you” Jinnah Ali Mohammed

Many women especially those from less privileged backgrounds, in developing and emerging markets have the ideas and ambition to become successful entrepreneurs but are held back by barriers such as lack of access to business skills, technology, networks and finance. In response, Jinnah Foundation has developed an innovative solution that combines mentoring with technology to offer cross-border support to women entrepreneurs.

Combining mentoring with technology to offer cross-border support to women entrepreneurs

  • We match female entrepreneurs in Pakistan with mentors around the world.
  • Using our online platform, they spend 12 months working one-on-one to achieve key business goals, build their business skills and become part of a global community of committed, ambitious entrepreneurs.
  • Participants build their business skills and digital literacy, and become part of a global community of committed, ambitious entrepreneurs who are invested in each other’s success.
  • Mentees and mentors meet online at least two-four hours a month during the year.
  • The programme boosts confidence, improves business performance and ultimately creates wealth for the entrepreneurs we support.
  • Mentees who are not very literal in English language as matched with urdu or Punjabi speaking mentors.

The mentoring in this programme is done online, which allows for great flexibility and cross-border networking and learning. Research shows that online mentoring makes it possible for those who might otherwise be excluded due to their gender or geographical location to participate in mentoring relationships. The mentees and mentors in this programme have been able to gain a fresh perspective, widen their networks to a global level and build life-changing relationships over thousands of miles.

The benefits of a mentoring relationship are tremendous – for both mentees and mentors. From building new skills to rejuvenating interest in your work, making new contacts and forging a bond with someone in another part of the world, mentoring truly presents some invaluable opportunities for everyone involved.

Women who are financially independent have greater control over their own lives and often a more influential voice in tackling injustice and discrimination. Mentoring plays a role in helping them overcome barriers they face and accelerate strides they are already making. By building their digital literacy and skills, women are in a better position to participate in political and business related decision-making processes.
